Let’s have a bit of fun with tech…
While travelling in Mongolia in 2006 I was recommended blogging instead of emailing friends and family photos and updates via email. From that grew an interest in the early stages of Social Media – Facebook, Twitter – and the opportunities for people and businesses.
At the time, these sites were commented on as “kids playing on Facebook” so I coached entrepreneurial people who were keen to explore, to have impressive online style and to setup progressive business systems that worked. They were people who didn’t yet get it and were open enough to have a go. Working together, they always picked it up fast and I was fortunate to see the ‘light bulb moments’ when people see how it fits with their lives and work and the pleasure experienced from it being easy. How cool that is!
So I collected the usual questions people ask, the many aspects of digital that are relevant for businesspeople, as well as the explanations and tools that worked. This became the Digital Style System.
As online has matured, I’ve been lucky enough to be profiled in major newpapers and magazines, sharing digital and productivity tips as well as business and life trends. All great fun – as you can see from the photo shoot above (thanks Dan!).
The number of sites, tools, terms and trends I’ve experimented and researched is in the tens of thousands!
Fast forward to now and I’ve presented to large groups of professionals and worked will all sorts of organisations and people around the world.
After all, we all just want to look great online and ‘get’ useful tech and know the business opportunities, right now – without too much effort and without the ongoing stress of whether we’ve done it right.
Plus we’ve plenty we’d prefer to do – while still looking amazing online and being empowered in business & tech of course!
